I created this blog when my sweet little girl, Kristen, was diagnosed with cancer, for the third time. After fighting for almost 3 years Kristen was called home to that same God who gave her life. I've contemplated on many occasions rather I should quit this blog or not. Each time I am inspired that I should not. One of my favorite quotes comes from Neal A. Maxwell- "Those who "plow in hope" not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the "Eye of faith" they still see divine design." Kristen blessed lives and continues to do so. Her light continues to shine. As for me, I continue to "plow in hope" knowing well that Kristen is mine for eternity. Families can be together forever! This I know. Our family continues to live and to love and this is our story...

another baby blessed

In our church this is what we do...
“Every member of the church of Christ having children is to bring them unto the elders before the church, who are to lay their hands upon them in the name of Jesus Christ, and bless them in his name” (D&C 20:70)

Today little Henry was blessed.
Usually our babies are blessed at church.
Little Henry was blessed at home today as he is too little to
go out in crowds of people. There is too  much RSV and flu
going around to take a chance with the little boy.
Family was in town from out of state so he was blessed at home.
He is the sweetest little boy.
He is wearing the same blessing outfit his dad wore some 22 years ago.

This lovely little patchwork blanket was made in the 1960's by my Grandma Poulson.
I love this blanket. It makes me think of both my grandma and my mom.
My grandma would make little dresses for my sister and I.
I can look at this blanket and find the little scraps of fabric from my dresses.

His name sake, Grandpa Henry.

another baby boy

At one time I had 8 grandchildren, 2 boys, 6 girls.
The girls were totally winning and all odds would say that it would be almost
impossible for the boys to catch the girls.
Never say never.
Current count: 6 girls, 6 boys.
The last 4 babies born have been boys.
This last little one came a few weeks early...

He is perfect.
We are blessed.

Here are the two littles.
The little almost 4 month old all of a sudden looks like a big boy.

Life is good. It's really good.

We made some yummy cupcakes for a Superbowl treat.
You know what they say about cake...

"Where there is cake,
there is hope.
And there is always cake."
