I created this blog when my sweet little girl, Kristen, was diagnosed with cancer, for the third time. After fighting for almost 3 years Kristen was called home to that same God who gave her life. One of my favorite quotes comes from Neal A. Maxwell- "Those who "plow in hope" not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the "Eye of faith" they still see divine design." Kristen blessed lives and continues to do so. Her light continues to shine. As for me, I continue to "plow in hope" knowing well that Kristen is mine for eternity. Families can be together forever!

baby shower

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of grand baby #12.
One dozen!
We had a baby shower today.
It was fun and everyone is so nice to come and support our family.
We had a woodsie theme and found some really cute decorations.

We decided we didn't want to play games so we bought everyone a prize instead.
The tag says, "From Morgan's shower to yours."

Grandma joined the little girls for a dance party.

brooke's cookies

Some of the kiddies came by this evening.
Brooke asked to make cupcakes or cookies.
She said she had a cookie recipe memorized and that she
always makes them by herself.
I was happy to turn the mixer over to her.

Baby brother thought they were pretty good...

especially dipped in milk.

 Here is her recipe.
It's a good one.
I was pretty impressed that she had the recipe memorized.
I told her to write it up so we could share it with all of our peeps.

"Today we will live in the moment
unless it's unpleasant
in which case
me will eat a cookie."

baby blessing

This past week baby boy was blessed at church.
He wore the same outfit his dad wore over 20 years ago.
He is so adorable.
He has been smiling for a while and recently started laughing.

This past week I also celebrated my birthday.
I told my husband I was double nickel and that 2 nickels  make a dime.
It took him a while but I think he finally figured it out.
My name for the year is "double nickel."

I work in a cancer hospital. This past week one of my favorite patients came in.
It happened to be her birthday.
She said over and over how happy she was that she still
gets to have birthdays.
She's right.

My birthday  happens to fall on New Year's Eve.
As part of the service mission that we are serving for our church,
we were assigned to be in the Empire Room in the Joseph Smith Building
until midnight. We oversaw concerts that were held here. This picture is
blurry, but I still kind of liked it.

This is a really cute picture of some of the girls wearing their crowns on Christmas.

Baby's first Christmas

A little thought for today...

Another cancer patient pointed this sign out to me.
She is also right.
