I created this blog when my sweet little girl, Kristen, was diagnosed with cancer, for the third time. After fighting for almost 3 years Kristen was called home to that same God who gave her life. One of my favorite quotes comes from Neal A. Maxwell- "Those who "plow in hope" not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the "Eye of faith" they still see divine design." Kristen blessed lives and continues to do so. Her light continues to shine. As for me, I continue to "plow in hope" knowing well that Kristen is mine for eternity. Families can be together forever!

holding onto summer...

The cool night air says summer is trying to escape.
We are holding on hoping for a few more fun filled days of summer.
As the children have returned to school things seem to be getting
a bit more busy. The days of sitting on the back porch laughing and
basically doing nothing are getting fewer and fewer.
The hummingbirds left a couple of  weeks ago.
The calendar says fall will arrive in about 4 more days.
We love Fall too.
Sometimes you just want to hold on a little longer.

My nephew was married yesterday.
It was a beautiful day for a wedding.

I made a few cakes for the reception,
of course I made my favorite, German chocolate.

Whenever I see one of the boys sitting with grandpa I run and grab my camera.

Grandma loves to dance!
It's a good thing a couple of the granddaughters will jump in and dance with her.

Sunday thought...
