I created this blog when my sweet little girl, Kristen, was diagnosed with cancer, for the third time. After fighting for almost 3 years Kristen was called home to that same God who gave her life. One of my favorite quotes comes from Neal A. Maxwell- "Those who "plow in hope" not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the "Eye of faith" they still see divine design." Kristen blessed lives and continues to do so. Her light continues to shine. As for me, I continue to "plow in hope" knowing well that Kristen is mine for eternity. Families can be together forever!

Festival of Trees

If the sun comes up
Without me tomorrow
If I leave this world tonight

Would you really know
How much I care about you
Or the way you’ve changed my life

I know there would be tears
And hope you’d get past it
And when you think of me
You’ll think of me laughing

Go on living
Don’t stop loving
Please find something you can put your heart into
And if the sun comes up, without me tomorrow
You’ll be fine
Just let it shine
On you

If the sun comes up
And I’m not there to hold you
Don’t you let it cloud your faith

Never lose your smile
And hold on to your passion
Make the world a better place

I know you won’t forget, the life we had together
And more than anything
I hope you’ll remember

I believe you’ll watch the sunrise
With me for years to come
But if it turns out this morning’s our last one

Baby, Go on living
Don’t stop loving
Please find something you can put your heart into
And if the sun comes up, without me tomorrow
You’ll be fine,
Just let it shine,
On you

Trace Adkins sings this song.
I was driving home from work late one night
a couple of years ago when I heard this song.
I was feeling down, sad, lonely and the list goes on and on.
When I heard this song I felt like Kristen was talking to me.
I knew I had to keep on living. I didn't want to.
But I knew I had to.
One of my favorite lines is
"Please find something you can put your heart into."

I love the Festival of Trees.
My entire family loves it.
We have our hearts in it.
We work all year preparing. It's always Christmas at my house.
We work on trees as well as items to donate and sell in the various shops.
We do it for one reason...
Kristen.

This year, in addition to our other project,s we donated 9 trees.
Our trees brought in almost $3500.00 for the sick children
at the hospital.
I gave each of my children a tree to decorate.
The all turned out perfect.

This tree was named
"Uptown Christmas"
It was decorated with small high heel shoes.
I received a donation of 9 Madame Alexander fashion dolls.
We placed the dolls under the tree.
Just a few days before thanksgiving a sweet lady passed away.
She left behind 5 children.
It was an honor to dedicate this tree to her.

The tree I dedicated to Kristen was a Frozen themed tree.
It was fabulous.
Several people were bidding on this tree, it ended up selling for $1000.00.

Katy and her children decorated this Cinderella tree.
Several people were also bidding on this tree.
It was darling.

Katy and her children also decorated this tree.
It was named "Christmas Belle"

I decorated this little tree and called it
"Merry Christmas"

Lisa and her children decorated
"Ariel's Christmas"
It was also darling.

Kamie always decorates a tree for Kristen.
This year she did "Minnie's Christmas."
It was so cute!

Kim and Nora decorated "Christmas Morning"
It too was a fabulous tree.

I also decorated a little tree with a Coke theme.
It was pretty cute too.

It was a great week. We had tons of fun.
We are already planning our trees and projects for next year.

A quick picture with some of my favorite friends,
we worked all week to help make the Elf Emporium a success.
