-an extremely plentiful or over sufficient quantity or supply:
overflowing fullness: abundance of the heart.
Today as I was walking through the garden I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming feeling of abundance. It is always a miracle to see what has become of a handful of seeds being scattered in fresh soil.
I love the butterflies fluttering about, the humming birds diligently searching for that perfect flower and those crazy busy bees buzzing about. I can hardly wait to crack open the hive and take a bite of the fresh honeycomb that the bees have been preparing all summer.
I have spent a great amount of time today snipping strings beans and preparing them to be placed in bottles and then in the pressure cooker.
There is something wonderful about bringing up a bottle of string beans from the basement in the dead of the winter and boiling them in a pot.
Growing, preparing and then storing your own fresh vegetables and fruit is one kind of abundance.
Last year President Thomas S. Monson
challenged us to undertake a personal, diligent significant quest for the abundant life- a life filled with an abundance of success,
goodness and blessings.
He says that as we cultivate a positive attitude, believe in ourselves, and with courage face the challenges that come our way then
the abundant life will be ours.
Something else he said that I have learned to be true is this;
'We can't direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails."
