I created this blog when my sweet little girl, Kristen, was diagnosed with cancer, for the third time. After fighting for almost 3 years Kristen was called home to that same God who gave her life. I've contemplated on many occasions rather I should quit this blog or not. Each time I am inspired that I should not. One of my favorite quotes comes from Neal A. Maxwell- "Those who "plow in hope" not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the "Eye of faith" they still see divine design." Kristen blessed lives and continues to do so. Her light continues to shine. As for me, I continue to "plow in hope" knowing well that Kristen is mine for eternity. Families can be together forever! This I know. Our family continues to live and to love and this is our story...

gone before noon

Tonight I had the opportunity to attend a rehearsal with
the International Children's Choir. It was fabulous! If anyone lives in the area
you should come to their concert Saturday at the Assembly Hall.
A man named Steve Kockerhans produced and composed a song called
"Gone Before Noon"
It was inspired by the Sandy Hook Elementary School incident.
It is a tribute to all children whose lives are cut short by tragedy.
The whole time the children were singing I was thinking about Kristen
as I feel her life was cut short due to cancer.

Here is a few words from the song.
(A soloist sings this part...)
"Here's to the lives that left us too soon,
they came in the morning and were gone by noon.

(Then the children in the background sing,)
"All is well, it's okay,
I'm still with you, I won't go away."

Those are words I needed to hear today. I have been praying to know
that Kristen is still near. I also pray that she knows how much
I love her. This song tonight was an answer to a grieving mothers prayers.

Oh yeah, we have just returned home from a fast trip to California.
It was a blast!
We all stayed together in a beach house.

A fun family game of apples to apples

I hardly took any pictures at Disneyland. We always ride the teacups in honor of Kristen.

We even saw dolphins!

We found a few awesome stores while walking Main Street in Seal Beach.
The Purple Store, I had to get a picture for my friend Joyce, she loves purple!

Polly's Bakery and Pies! We even went inside and bought a pie just so I could have the pie tin
that says, "Homemade by Polly"

"Here's to the lives that left us too soon,
they came in the morning and were gone by noon.

"All is well, it's okay,
I'm still with you, I won't go away."

Sunday Fun

Hope on. Journey on...
all things are possible to them that believe.
~Jeffrey R. Holland

I've been in a bit of a rut lately.
One thing I know for sure is that it is important to keep
moving forward. So we journey on.
We had another great Sunday afternoon.
I love the tradition that we share each Sunday.
All of my children and grandchildren gather for dinner and fun.
It really doesn't take much to entertain us.
A few bubbles, some stale boiled eggs to blast into the field and
we're good. We even played a little game of
where's Nora up in Kristen's room.
It all made for a great afternoon.

Easter pictures

Our Easter celebration always includes an egg hunt at Grandma Kirton's on Saturday
and an egg hunt at my mom's on Sunday.
The kids look forward to both of these traditions.
