I created this blog when my sweet little girl, Kristen, was diagnosed with cancer, for the third time. After fighting for almost 3 years Kristen was called home to that same God who gave her life. One of my favorite quotes comes from Neal A. Maxwell- "Those who "plow in hope" not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the "Eye of faith" they still see divine design." Kristen blessed lives and continues to do so. Her light continues to shine. As for me, I continue to "plow in hope" knowing well that Kristen is mine for eternity. Families can be together forever!

Princess Polly's Castle

I had this great idea as to how I would introduce you to my castle.
But it is late and I'm tired, seems to be the story of my life as of late.
Could I just get a few more hours of daylight?
I have definitely noticed the shorter days and  I'm not too excited
to know that they will continue to get shorter until the
winter solstice on December 21st.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE fall  in fact I love winter too.
Guess I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed lately.
So I have this awesome son in law.
He kinda thought my name rhymed with something like poo.
 You know like Polly poo.
Well, that just didn't work for me. Especially when a few of his children,
my precious grandchildren, started calling me by his preferred name.
It didn't take long for me to come up with something better.
What else could possibly go with Polly.
Oh I know...
Princess Polly
So Princess Polly it is.
I think it's working. I haven't heard that other name in weeks. good thing.
We have been enjoying life here about the castle.

We've been enjoying fresh vegetables from our garden

Lots and lots of Popsicles have been enjoyed by all

The girls learned a new Funky Chicken dance

The baby girl is getting big! Her favorite room in the house is
Kristen's room.

Christmas is coming!!!
We have been busy making cute stuff for the Festival of Trees.

A boy, his puppy and his grandpa
Ryan will have a second surgery on October 10th.
Prayers would be appreciated.

One of my most favorite finds in the garden is this Indian corn.
I'll be planting it every year!

My 2 boys, and one of them just turned 30

It was finally time for gathering of the pumpkins.
The kiddies had a blast.

The best pumpkin was chosen first and will be delivered to Kristen's grave.
She loved to choose herself a pumpkin every year.
Oh how we miss that girl!
Here she is with her last pumpkin
October 2009

“God expects you to have enough faith and determination and enough trust in Him to keep moving, keep living, keep rejoicing. In fact, He expects you not simply to face the future; He expects you to embrace and shape the future--to love it and rejoice in it and delight in your opportunities."

That is what we will continue to do in this castle.
keep living
keep rejoicing
embracing and loving life

Love your sweet family, Princess. We miss your girl too.
Will be praying on the 10th for sure.

I think of you and whisper a prayer your way each day.
