I created this blog when my sweet little girl, Kristen, was diagnosed with cancer, for the third time. After fighting for almost 3 years Kristen was called home to that same God who gave her life. I've contemplated on many occasions rather I should quit this blog or not. Each time I am inspired that I should not. One of my favorite quotes comes from Neal A. Maxwell- "Those who "plow in hope" not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the "Eye of faith" they still see divine design." Kristen blessed lives and continues to do so. Her light continues to shine. As for me, I continue to "plow in hope" knowing well that Kristen is mine for eternity. Families can be together forever! This I know. Our family continues to live and to love and this is our story...

3 years

When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and
you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that
which has been your delight.
~Kahlil Gibran

To live in hearts we leave behind Is not to die.
 ~Thomas Campbell, "Hallowed Ground"

A paragraph from her obituary 3 years ago...

Kristen loved life. Her favorite place in the world was home. Many days you could find her dancing and singing throughout the house. She loved to watch the Disney channel and to organizer her things. Kristen loved family vacations, camping and spending the night in a hotel. Kristen was a shining star in the lives of many. In her short 24 years she instilled upon many the gift of perspective, the lessons of fragility and taught all the true meaning of life and what was important.
Kristen was beautiful she was meek and she represents
everything that is good in the world.

Because of Kristen
we live better, laugh more and love bigger.
We love and miss our angel girl.

It's been 3 years?! Oh Polly, I'm sorry I didn't remember. I will be praying for you today.

Your beautiful girl. That beautiful smile.

I have used both these quotes several times. The second when sweet little Lois lost her fight against this disease.

I am sending you love from across the miles. Thanking you for sharing Kristen with me. For traveling alongside us on our own journey. I am better for it but would gladly trade it if Kristen could be here with you today.

Peace my friend. Today and always.

We miss your sweet angel girl too. Every time Jimmy talks about who he misses, he always includes Kristen. As soon as I put on the Cd that has the song 'Held' on it, Caleb calls out from the back seat, "Kristen's song". We love her and we love you Polly!

My heart aches for you and your family. I think of you often and try to enjoy this time with my girls, not knowing how long I will have them on this earth with me. Praying for your heart.

What a lovely statement to say about someone- she was so lucky to have you, but you were blessed to have her.
