I created this blog when my sweet little girl, Kristen, was diagnosed with cancer, for the third time. After fighting for almost 3 years Kristen was called home to that same God who gave her life. I've contemplated on many occasions rather I should quit this blog or not. Each time I am inspired that I should not. One of my favorite quotes comes from Neal A. Maxwell- "Those who "plow in hope" not only understand the law of the harvest but they also understand what growing seasons are all about. True, those with genuine hope may see their proximate circumstances shaken like a kaleidoscope at times, yet with the "Eye of faith" they still see divine design." Kristen blessed lives and continues to do so. Her light continues to shine. As for me, I continue to "plow in hope" knowing well that Kristen is mine for eternity. Families can be together forever! This I know. Our family continues to live and to love and this is our story...

let's get the party started

I already have a lot of Halloween pictures, so I decided I should start posting
some of them now. Last weekend was my mother in laws
annual Halloween party. She hasn't missed a party since I joined the family
almost 33 years ago. Every year she has another original costume
and this year didn't disappoint.

I feel a little guilty celebrating when so many on the east coast are suffering.
Not to worry though, I heard Chris Christie is canceling Halloween
and rescheduling it for later in the week.

If you are wanting to help in the rescue efforts for those affected by
hurricane Sandy, the Red Cross is a great place to start.

freedom

Freedom has its price.
Dave, Kim, Nora and I woke up early this morning and headed to
the airport. I'm sure Kim has been dreading this day for a while.
Dave is in the National Guard. He is headed to the east coast for
a selection process for the special forces.
Usually this wouldn't be such a big deal for them,
but you see this isn't just about them anymore,
little Nora is just 11 days old.
Her daddy had to say goodbye to her today,
By the times he returns she will be over 1 month old.

Dave could hardly stand it and had to take Nora out of her seat for one more hug,

Please say a little prayer for their family.

Birthday Girls

This past we week we celebrated these 2 girls,
as both had a Birthday.
We celebrated the way we usually do...
we partied!

A few weeks ago, Kamie, Kim and I were shopping. We looked behind us and
this is what we saw...

Kamie sporting a rather large pinata.
So of course we went back later and bought it for her birthday.
The kids had a blast breaking it.

I love the look on Kali's face...

Yesterday it was this girls turn,
so once again we partied.

Notice Kali sneaking a little frosting.

We also celebrated the birth of Nora.
3 special girls will share a week of Birthday fun.
This is Kim before Nora arrived.
She is bundled in Kristen's coat.
She often goes to Kristen's room and borrows her coat.
She made a point of taking it with her to the hospital.

Here are my girls shortly after Nora arrived.
Whenever we are together for a special occasion
we all feel the emptiness of a missing daughter and sister.
We like to think that she was right there with us.

sweet little Nora Ann has arrived

She is here safe and sound.
A short time after delivery Kim is quoted as saying,
"Labor and delivery was a cake walk."
I think I am feeling more exhausted than Kim.
Much more to come as soon as a certain someone (that would be me) gets some sleep.
